The Weill Cornell Medicine Center for Trauma and Addiction is an outpatient, evidence based mental health treatment program that focuses on healing developmental and adult trauma for client's 21 years or older.
For our client’s convenience, all services are currently being offered virtually using a secure Weill Cornell Medicine platform or in-person.
Our Approach
Our faculty and clinical staff address PTSD and related issues using a three phase approach and EMDR Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing therapy.
Treating PTSD and Trauma with EMDR
The Weill Cornell Medicine Center for Trauma and Addiction faculty and clinical staff address PTSD and related issues using a three phase approach of stabilization, traumatic memory processing, and reintegration. The Center’s primary treatment modality is EMDR, an evidence based therapeutic intervention with a very high success rate.
After undergoing a one session psychiatric evaluation, each client is assigned to a trauma trained psychotherapist with a minimum of 10 years experience. Treatment is tailored to the individual; services are available virtually or in person, based on the clients’ needs.
Alcohol and Substance Abuse Treatment
The Weill Cornell Medicine Midtown Center for Treatment and Research is a comprehensive not-for-profit outpatient program for the evaluation and treatment of chemically dependent individuals and their significant others. The program is licensed by the New York State Office of Addiction Supports and Services (NYS OASAS) as an Article 822, Medically-Supervised Ambulatory Substance Abuse Treatment Program (SATP).
